Nia means purpose, this is why I chose the name.

The music from this group is a collaboration of five individuals searching for similar things in music, in hopes of obtaining a sense of unity and understanding.

The collective unity of the band allows us to express our ideas clearly through composition. Having like-minded individuals reaching progressively towards the same goal but from different angles is the type of honesty I want to hear in today's music.

Nia plays all original compositions and originals from other jazz artists.
